The 13-track project combines the coolness of jazz, the raw sexiness of R&B, the heart of soul, and the across-the-board popularity of Adult Contemporary. The album was produced by Tommy Parker (J. Cole, Ariana Grande) and is lyrically inspired by the social, economic, and political events of that year.
