LUME is a Brighton-based singer-songwriter from Oldham, England. Not too long ago, she released a melodic pop tune, entitled, “Edge of My Seat”.
LUME – “Edge of My Seat”
“The song imagines that there’s a search party or rescue mission out there looking to pull us out of the mud. It’s a hopeful track, with the idea that we’ll all find contentment and clarity at some point, with whatever we choose to fight for, or let go of. At the time I also had this overwhelming sense that everything was going to be fine and I felt excited for us all. And that actually, maybe I was their search party in parts of the song and they were mine.” – LUME
LUME penned “Edge of My Seat” after hearing that a string of her musician friends was struggling and on the brink of quitting.
The laidback tune contains an abstract storyline, melodic vocals, and slow-burning instrumentation flavored with urban-pop and indie-rock elements.
Also, LUME’s music is a melting pot of ideas, sounds, and places.

After weaving her way down South and ending-up in Brighton, the bubbly songstress found a new home in more ways than one as LUME—a riff on the historic cotton industry of her native Oldham, which is peppered with mills and Looms.
In 2018, she released her debut EP, entitled, “Tip of Your Thumb”. Shortly afterward, the 4-track project gained a sizable buzz.
