Love You Later is the solo project of Nashville-based singer-songwriter, Lexi Aviles. Not too long ago, she released a lovely visualizer for her “Girl With Headphones” single, produced and mixed by Kyle Dreaden.
Love You Later – “Girl With Headphones” visualizer
“‘Girl With Headphones’ is about feeling out of place, like you’re the only one living in your world. Things were feeling very dim at the beginning of this year, and it made me think about how when I was a kid, I would feel like the main character in my own indie film, staring out the window of the passenger seat and romanticizing everything the world has to offer. There’s a true vulnerability and weight in this song as I pretty much admit I haven’t been feeling like myself lately. The song also comes with a sense of letting go and realizing maybe that’s what’s stopping me from being truly happy. ‘Girl With Headphones’ is about me, the main character, experiencing what it feels like to grow, let go, embrace the unknown, move on, and return to myself. It’s a cathartic rollercoaster.” – Love You Later explained
Love You Later’s signature brand of effortlessly cool alt-pop shines through on “Girl With Headphones.” It opens with a pulsing fuzzy synth arp before blooming with sweetness as Lexi’s dreamy vocals kick in. “Girl With Headphones” is a cinematic and nostalgic song that wouldn’t feel out of place in a coming-of-age movie. Plus, it’s the first single from Love You Later’s upcoming EP, entitled, “From The Window Seat,” available on May 5th, 2023.
“I hate that I feel this way.”
Pairing electric melodies and honest lyrics with shimmery guitar riffs and euphoric synths, Love You Later’s music makes you feel like you’re in a dream. Her debut single, “Lost In Los Angeles,” charted at #12 on Spotify’s Viral Top 50 in Global, US, and Canada; and her discography has gained nearly eight million streams and counting.
Over the past few years, Love You Later has opened for OneRepublic, Dayglow, and Briston Maroney. Also, she has attended SXSW as an official artist, and sold-out Nashville’s legendary EXIT/IN. Her recent collaborations include members of The Band CAMINO, Andy Seltzer, Samia, Arlie, Annie DiRusso, Charlie Hickey, Marshall Vore, and more. Her most recent earworm, “Keepintouch,” earned its way on Spotify’s ‘Indie Pop’ and ‘New Pop Picks’ and gained attention from notable tastemakers and media outlets.
