“I would run for miles, I would drink a poison vile. I would swim the river Nile. If you’d stay for a while. I would jump a train headed straight for L.A. I’d throw you a parade if you could just stay. If you could just stay. Blue eyes, so blue. Deeper than the ocean.” – lyrics

‘Blue Eyes’ finds Leah Culver in a vulnerable state singing about a young man who lost his life to an overdose.

Apparently, they were extremely close. Therefore, Culver created a body of work to reflect her state of mind following her loss.

‘Blue Eyes’ contains a relatable storyline, pleasing vocals, and tuneful melodies. Also, the heartfelt tune possesses moody instrumentation scented with an emo-pop aroma.

“A year ago, I lost someone who was the most important person in my life for a long time. It was the first loss that really broke me and still breaks me to this day. In the early months, I couldn’t produce anything but I needed to express myself badly. My dear friend, H3NRY (with a 3), helped me let it all out in his microphone, executively producing the whole project. I wrote nothing down. These 6 songs came straight from my heart in the most vulnerable and painful period of my life. That is why I named it the ‘Honest EP’. I’m releasing it on Halloween because that is his birthday. Forever, we love you, HKK. ” – Leah Culver

Leah Culver is a name you should remember and an exciting artist to watch. So far, she has shared the stage and gained support from major artists including Adventure Club, The Chainsmokers, Steve Aoki, and Laidback Luke to name a few.
