“‘Pillow’ is so special to me. It’s about feeling isolated and alone while also having support and love around me. I wanted the song to feel like a hug.” – Laura Dreyfuss explained

‘Pillow’ contains a relatable narrative, ear-pleasing vocals, and heartwarming melodies that will resonate well with anyone who needs to be held in a comforting way. The likable tune possesses piano-laden instrumentation flavored with indie-pop and lo-fi/folk elements. Furthermore, “Pillow” is highlighted on Laura Dreyfuss’s 5-track debut EP, entitled, “Peaks.”

“Found a journal entry of mine from the time when I wrote this song:

‘I find myself feeling nostalgic for the early days of the pandemic. There was something comforting about feeling lost and scared with the entire world. It somehow feels more isolating now. The fatigue is real, it’s like a life with guard rails. We can do most things but not to their fullest extent. There is a lost abandon to the way we once were. Even when we are doing something thrilling, like gathering, there is a guilt or a sense of caution in the air. This is the fatigue, I believe, the weight of joy feeling somehow wrong.’

I like to think I’ve come a long way from that entry, but the truth is it’s up and down. I’m focusing on the smaller moments. What has been the peak of your day?” – Laura Dreyfuss shared via Instagram.

Laura Dreyfuss loves making music that she can dance to. Also, she loves writing things that are very specific to her experience. Oprah, pantsuits, and rooftop sunsets interest her. Plus, she listens to a lot of Robyn, Kacey Musgraves, and Christine and the Queens in her spare time.
