LACES releases an alternative-pop tune, entitled, “Thirsty,” featuring Molly Miller

LACES is the solo project of industry mainstay, Jessica Vaughn, who helms Head B*tch Music, a multi-faceted, multi-service creative company. Not too long ago, she released an alternative-pop tune, entitled, “Thirsty,” featuring guitarist Molly Miller (Jason Mraz, The Bachelor Presents: Listen to Your Heart).

‘Thirsty’ finds LACES speaking her mind and pulling no punches. She sings, “You’re about as real as a hologram,” addressing the double standards set forth by the all-knowing industry bro. A man who is simultaneously better than you but also blames you for all their shortcomings in the face of your success. The cherry on top is of course Molly Miller’s anthemic guitar solo that adds an extra grit to the song. Furthermore, “Thirsty” serves as a savory appetizer to what listeners can expect to hear on LACES’s upcoming debut album, entitled, “Super Weirdo.” The project will be available on May 5, 2022, with an album release party at LA’s The Hotel Cafe.

“I’ve been in music professionally for 17 years and I am over the sexism, the gaslighting, and general double standards. While I generally try to make a difference in my career without being petty… sometimes you just need an F U song to dedicate to all those male producers who did you dirty. I kept my receipts and this one is for the dudes who tried to take my power. BOY BYE!” – LACES explained

LACES was originally signed at 18-years-old under the moniker, Charlotte Sometimes. Since then, she has learned first-hand the traumas that come from being a young woman in the music industry. But through the support of her immediate community and personal tenacity, LACES has become a powerhouse artist who has taken back control. Her new songs mine bleak spaces for hope, and never come up empty-handed.

“I feel like that’s your job as an artist: to say the uncomfortable thing that makes people think and helps them feel less alone.” – LACES explained

Under her legal name, LACES pens and produces music for Hasbro cartoons such as Jem & the Holograms, Baby Alive, Littlest Pet Shop, Equestria Girls, and more. Also, she has secured placements on series and specials on the CW, Netflix, ABC, and others. Plus, she writes gems for other recording artists.
