“Here we are right in this honeymoon phase. So, why’s my head in circles thinking this way? I’m weighing the pros and caught up in the cons. So scared of wasting time that I could let a good thing go to waste. You could give me all that I deserve. Treat me like a queen, give me the world. How can I feel both open and reserved?” – lyrics

‘Too Much’ tells an intriguing tale about a young woman who finds herself overthinking, worrying, and fighting her mind. She’s trying too hard to make things work with her significant other. Later, she tells her partner, “I want your hands on me like your life depends on it.” At this moment, she has no reason for concern. She’s confident her companion will never break her heart.

‘Too Much’ touches on the magic and nervousness of meeting someone new, feeling that moment potentially blossom into something beautiful, and allowing yourself to fully let go and open yourself up to all the feelings that come with that moment.

Furthermore, “Too Much” is gentle but assertive with a nice guitar melody and drum-laden instrumentation flavored with indie and contemporary pop elements. “Too Much” is also the first single from Kory Leigh’s upcoming EP, and fans of Adele, Emeli Sandé, and Leona Lewis will surely appreciate this song.

“Comes down to the feeling, not me trying to steer it.”

“‘Too Much’ is a very personal concept to me dialing in on when overthinking almost gets the best of you and ruins a potentially good relationship. Trying to find the line between vetting someone but not letting your head take over completely and quieting your heart. I don’t think I’m alone in experiencing that. In terms of the sound and track, I wanted an organic feel with a soulful lead vocal and lots of harmonies.” – Kory Leigh explained

Kory Leigh (@koryleighmusic) has over two decades of captivating performances. She draws inspiration from soulful melodies and an unwavering passion for vocals. Her musical influences include  Sam Cook, Nat King Cole, and Celine Dion. With a voice that intertwines power and vulnerability, Kory Leigh delivers heartfelt lyrics and unforgettable melodies, enchanting audiences with every note.
