Jordan Mackampa – “What Am I” music video
“‘What Am I’ is a modern take on Marvin Gaye’s classic, ‘What’s Going On’. It highlights the state of the world right now. From multiple wars in different territories, how the earth is dying, to the border control problem and how it’s been dealt with. It’s a lot of ‘hopes and prayers’, changing of display pictures to blue. But all trickling down to a stop soon after, as it’s no longer at the forefront of the media. I wrote this song in the mindset of how I need to do more but don’t know how because I am only one man, trying his best to make a change within the means available.” – Jordan Mackampa
‘What Am I’ finds Jordan Mackampa stepping inside his true self and capturing the feeling of a lost generation.
As the track comes to an end, he leaves listeners without an answer to the question—”What am I supposed to do?”
‘What Am I’ contains a relatable narrative, ear-welcoming vocals, and tuneful melodies. Also, the likable tune possesses vibrant instrumentation flavored with triumphant horns, harmonious percussion, and orchestral strings.
Jordan Mackampa – “The End is Nigh”
“I watched the news this morning. Another town has fallen. The people still are fighting. Their stories told in pictures and nothing ever changes. So what’s the point in trying? I dream of a day when the walls come down. I hope for a time when the lost are found. We thought we had it all, but the answers are still a world away.” – lyrics
Jordan Mackampa is a name you should remember and an exciting new artist to watch.
His soul-soaked, indie driven tunes swim in the sounds and stories of the cities he’s inhabited over the years.
Also, he was inspired by his mother’s love of the great soul singers (e.g., Marvin Gaye, Bill Withers, Curtis Mayfield).
