Jasmine Thompson – “some people” music video

“Some people think they don’t need people, they’ve been hurt so many times. Some people want to hold your body, want to use you for a night. I don’t want you to feel that’s all the love you’ll get in this life.” – lyrics

‘some people’ tells an adoring tale of a young woman who shows love to one of her good friends who needs affection. Apparently, her friend has been hurt so many times and feels no one cares for her. But the woman reassures her friend that all of the love that she has to give is for her friend to take. Also, she wants her friend to know that she will receive more love in this lifetime and she is not alone.

‘some people’ contains a relatable storyline, ear-welcoming vocals, and luxurious instrumentation flavored with a commercial pop aroma. Also, the song was written for Thompson’s childhood friend who fell into the wrong crowd.

“I know my friend didn’t always feel appreciated by the people that she put first. I loved her to pieces and wanted to make sure that she knew. And I hope that she stays positive and will one day find the person that will give her the love she deserves.” – Jasmine Thompson

Jasmine Thompson was born to an English father and Chinese-born mother. At just 18-years-old, she might be a new artist to some but she’s already connected to an audience of millions around the world.
