“Sometimes, we as singers just long to be serenaded. This song was written at the very start of quarantine. As the future of live music started to look bleak, the idea of being serenaded kept replaying through my mind. Also, as an entertainer, watching other entertainers feeds my soul. That expression that inspires runs I wouldn’t have ever thought of. There’s a sense of longing in the song as well, however sweet, for that intimate moment. Turns out I’m serenading the listener here.” – Ivy Alex

‘Serenade Me’ contains a relatable narrative, ear-welcoming vocals, and calming melodies. Also, the relaxing tune possesses smooth instrumentation scented with modern soul and contemporary R&B elements. Furthermore, “Serenade Me” serves as a fantastic presentation to what listeners can expect to hear from Ivy Alex in the near future.

“No one but you who can serenade me.”

“I knew I wanted to write something similar to John Mayer’s ‘Gravity’. Mark Pelli turned this flower of a song into a garden with his instrumentation, harmonies, and overall production which I am greatly in awe of. So I hope this song serenades you and allows you a moment of peace in these chaotic times.” – Ivy Alex

Ivy Alex (a Berklee Alumni) writes on the focuses of love, loss, heartbreak, and inner wisdom. Her musical influences include Alicia Keys, Lana Del Rey, and Nai Palm (of Hiatus Kaiyote). Since releasing her debut single, “Waterfalls”, in 2018, she has curated original artistry of her own, with dreamy sounds birthed from lovelorn poetry and atmospheric vocal tone.
