‘Girl Like Me’ is a catchy futurist tale of an unlikely love affair between an alien Queen and a human. The song captures I Am Boleyn’s signature infusion of nostalgia and star gazing. Also, “Girl Like Me” was co-written by Lune (Axwell, Ingrosso) and Par Westerlund (Alicia Keys, 1Direction), currently no.1 in the US BILLBOARD charts with BlackPink.
‘Girl Like Me’ also contains a dreamy narrative and pleasing vocals that will resonate well with fans of Lana De Rey, Robyn, and NINA. The likable tune possesses lush instrumentation flavored with electro-pop, synthpop, and alternative elements dripping with a sonic connection to TRON, Star Trek, and Blade Runner. Furthermore, “Girl Like Me” is the first single from I Am Boleyn’s upcoming album, entitled, “Lost in Space,” available in Summer 2023 with four singles preceding it. The project is I am BOLEYN’s most conceptual work to date.

I Am Boleyn spends her time shuttling between London and Stockholm, working with Swedish-based music production collective, FMLY STHLM, and Johannes Willinder. Influenced by Robyn, Annie, Goldfrapp, and MS MR, I Am Boleyn’s take on electro-pop brims with hints of neon-lit ‘80s Berlin bars with a futuristic twist of Blade Runner.
I Am Boleyn grew up in St. Petersburg, Russia, went to Oxford University to study history, and has been writing songs since she was young. After the release of her first single, “Too Much,” she played sold-out shows at the Peppermint Club in Los Angeles, Laylow in London, and Art Basel Miami. In 2020, the music video for her single “Limit of Love” was shortlisted for the London Music Video Festival.

I am BOLEYN performed “Another Me” for the digital concert #ivoted festival on November 3rd for the US elections. Later, “Another Me” was added to Spotify’s Editorial playlist RetroWave/Outrun. With over one million streams on Spotify and 150k views on YouTube, I Am Boleyn’s momentum looks extremely promising.
