Hailes is a 24-year-old Brooklyn, NY-based singer-songwriter from Kansas City. Not too long ago, she released a lovely neo-soul tune, entitled, “Come Thru,” featuring rapper Jonathan Singletary.

‘Come Thru’ tells an adorable tale about a young woman who plans on enjoying her weekend break from the hustle and bustle of the big city. Apparently, what she wants to do is spend her entire time off with her significant other. Also, she wants to smoke a little greenery to relax her mind.

Hailes moved to New York in the summer of 2017 to continue pursuing a career in musical theatre (so she thought). After discovering the constraints of the commercial musical theatre industry, she decided to focus her efforts on telling her own stories through songwriting. No longer confined by the finite boxes of agents, casting directors, and producers, Hailes tapped into her musical roots and found a voice completely her own. She fuses her love of neo-soul, alternative, and acoustic sounds to create a unique, genre-bending sonic experience. Her influences include a vast range of artists such as Nina Simone, Lauryn Hill, India.Arie, Stevie Wonder, Lianne la Havas, Frank Ocean, and Dave Matthews. Also, the authenticity of her artistry is apparent in genuine, thoughtful lyrics that create a tender yet groovy ambiance for her listeners.
