“How the hell did you just turn and change? I’ve been here before. Can’t keep digging up the past just to blame. It’s like you’re keeping score. I’m not gonna be the one to entertain. No, not anymore. What I got from losing you is what I got when it all fell through. Now, I know ‘cause I’m over you. You’re not what I wanted. You’re not what I need now. I’m over you. If I’m being honest, didn’t buy your promise ‘cause it was just for show.” – lyrics

‘Over You’ tells a heartfelt tale about a woman who tackles the difficulty of letting go after getting out of a toxic relationship. Apparently, her love for her ex started to fade after she realized her ex was playing the victim and making her feel hopeless or worthless. Also, their constant back and forth arguments didn’t help but make matters worse. Later, the woman admits she didn’t lose anything of value and is currently looking ahead to a new and prosperous beginning.

‘Over You’ contains a troubled relationship-based narrative, ear-pleasing vocals, and tuneful melodies that will resonate well with fans of Dua Lipa, Tove Lo, and Chelsea Cutler. The likable tune possesses synth-laden instrumentation flavored with an electro-pop aroma. Furthermore, “Over You” serves as a tasty appetizer of what listeners can expect to hear from Fí in the near future.

“The track is about the ending of a relationship, the redirection to something better. I do believe everything happens for a reason and sometimes we need something bad to happen to shake us and realize what’s really important. I made excuses, ignored the red flags, and didn’t prioritize my needs. And although it was a shock to the system when it all ended, it also gave me a new lease of life. It taught me to put myself first and to always trust myself with choices in the future.” – Fí explained

Fí is inspired by fellow luminaries such as Halsey, Tove Lo, Chelsea Cutler, and Verite. She started writing after buying her first guitar in college and has spent the last few years crafting songs from her bedroom. Since then, she has performed at many festivals and acoustic gigs playing Electric Picnic and Vantastival. Also, she played her headline gig in Workmans to a packed-out room for We-Bloom. Plus, she supported a sold-out show for Freya Ridings in Cyprus Avenue and played at the infamous Ruby Sessions.
