“I know you feel like you’re on lost time. I know, we’re way too intertwined ‘cause I think too much, talk too much, heard too much out of you. And are we out of touch, in too much? I don’t care if it’s true ‘cause I’m always gonna let you sleep on me. I can see you hurting from across the room. There’s no need to play the past on repeat.” – lyrics

‘Sleep On Me’ is about how ugly love can be. The emotive tune contains a relatable narrative and ear-pleasing vocals and tuneful melodies that will resonate well with fans of MUNA, Clairo, and kwassa. Also, “Sleep On Me” possesses vibrant instrumentation flavored with a warm indie-pop vibration. Furthermore, the song serves as a tasty appetizer to what listeners can expect to hear from EVER in the near future.

“I know that I think too much, talk too much, heard too much out of you.”

“I wanted ‘Sleep On Me’ to be the anchor to my next EP. So it only feels right to release it out into the world first. I wrote it initially as a poem. The thought of making it into a song felt way too vulnerable. I liked it sitting in my notebook, where only I knew it existed. It’s such an intimate song for me, but ultimately I think the narrative is something most people can relate to. Love hurts, it’s ugly, it’s painful, but we still want it.” – EVER explained
