Eva Tolkin – “Give Me a Sign” single
‘Give Me a Sign’ tells an intriguing tale about a woman who shares a challenging relationship with her significant other. Lately, she hasn’t had much sleep and is in the process of losing her sanity because she doesn’t know if she still resides inside her companion’s mind. Later, she admits that she needs and wants her partner’s love more than ever before.
‘Give Me a Sign’ contains a relatable narrative, ear-pleasing vocals, and tuneful melodies that will resonate well with fans of Carly Rae Jepson. The likable tune possesses vibrant instrumentation flavored with alternative and indie-pop elements. Furthermore, “Give Me a Sign” follows mildly on the heels of Eva Tolkin’s previously released single, Is It Love. Both songs are featured on her new seven-track EP, entitled, “City and Sky.”
“Give me a sign that I’m on your mind.”
Eva Tolkin’s reputation as a highly sought-after vocalist begets her burgeoning career as a solo artist. Her career got a jump start following an unexpected encounter with the alternative fashion and pop music icon, Solange Knowles. Solange noticed Eva when her then managers held background vocal auditions at a Brooklyn photo studio. This was where Eva worked for Canadian fashion filmmaker, Gordon Von Steiner. Following a successful audition, Eva has committed herself to music. Also, she has toured the world with Solange, Robyn, Charli XCX, Lykke Li, and currently—Blood Orange. Her vocals were recorded on several Blood Orange songs including “Sandra’s Smile” and “Charcoal Baby.”
After many years of touring, Tolkin has taken a break to focus on her producing and recording skills. The result is a much more intimate sound, showcasing her evolution as a musician and writer.
