Erin Bloomer is a 17-year-old singer-songwriter from south England. Not too long ago, she released a heartfelt pop tune, entitled, “Second Best”.

Erin Bloomer – “Second Best” single

“‘Second Best’ is about feeling like you come second to everything and everyone else in someone’s list of priorities. I wrote it for one of my close friends who was going through a tough situation in order to try and put her feelings into a song, and to turn something sad into something nicer.” – Erin Bloomer

Looking back to Erin Bloomer’s first two singles (“Lately” & “She’ll Be Gone”), both songs were written for a friend. “Second Best” follows in a similar path, where listeners get a real idea of Erin Bloomer’s priorities (e.g., encouraging & empowering other young girls, working things out). Also, the song tells a heartfelt tale of a young woman who battles the hardships of not topping the priorities of her significant other.

“I always want my music to reassure people that they’re not alone, however, they feel. Also, I think everyone can relate to feeling second best in some form. ‘Second Best’ is slower and more chilled than most of the stuff I write. But that felt like the right way to express the sentiment.” – Erin Bloomer

So far, Erin Bloomer has appeared on BBC Introducing, and her music draws comparisons to young voices including Julia Michaels and Khalid. Her “Second Best” single contains a relatable storyline, ear-welcoming vocals, and rich harmonies. Also, the song possesses lush instrumentation flavored with a commercial pop aroma.
