ChrystalChyna is an up-and-coming identical twin duo based in Los Angeles, California. Not too long ago, they released a beautiful rendition of SWV’s “Rain” single.
ChrystalChyna – “Rain (SWV cover)” music video
“Let your love just shower me. Just rain on me full as a dam at capacity. My passion’s about to explode, yeah. I can’t escape, it’s surrounding me. I’m caught in a storm that I don’t need no shelter from. Rain down on me, let your love just fall like raindrops.” – lyrics
‘Rain’ tells a heartfelt tale about a young woman who is head-over-heels in love with her significant other. Apparently, his love is as soft as a misting rain that touches her soul and cools the fire that burns within her heart. Later, she admits that she is beginning to lose control of her senses because his love is overwhelmingly overpowering her vulnerable emotions.
‘Rain’ contains a relationship-based narrative, ear-pleasing vocals, and harmony-driven melodies that will surely resonate well with fans of SWV. The adorable cover possesses melodic instrumentation flavored with a ‘90s R&B vibration. Furthermore, “Rain” serves as a tasty appetizer of what listeners can expect to hear on ChrystalChyna’s upcoming debut EP. The project will be released in Fall 2021.
“Let your love just fall like raindrops.”
“We wanted to do a cover of ‘Rain’ by SWV because we wanted to pay homage to a group we have always looked up to, and related to. They are a big part of who we are as singers and who we are as brown girls, period. We hope they see the video, that they love it, and that they can feel just how much of an impact they have had.” – ChrystalChyna explained
ChrystalChyna emerged in the spotlight from a birth announcement on the Jay Leno Show. The beautiful “chocolate-drop” twins call Natalie Cole, “God Mommy,” and they are being guided by their “Auntie” Chaka Khan. Since taking the stage with Natalie, they’ve gone on to develop their own creative voices. Lately, they have proven they have what it takes to build upon their rich musical upbringing and step out on their own. Also, they are forging a unique path of musicality, representation, and holistic artistry. Not wanting to rest on the laurels of their connections, they decided to train in a classical and contemporary voice. The benefits were recognized early on, during years of local, regional, and national performances.
ChrystalChyna – “No Pressure” music video
ChrystalChyna’s sinewy vocals and deep understanding of storytelling are showcased brilliantly on their previously released single, entitled, “No Pressure,” produced by Grant “G NICK” Nicholas (Ne-Yo, Jody Watley, Sy Smith). The mid-tempo tune authentically captures ChrystalChyna’s ‘90s-R&B influences while remaining fresh and current. This creative interpretation solidifies their potential and ability to continue growing and expanding. Beyond their extreme talent, they are shining examples of work ethic, drive, and passion. Their motto is “if you stay ready, you don’t have to get ready.”

ChrystalChyna reveals their true feelings About SWV
“We feel SWV is one of the last girl groups that actually had that gospel background. With their R&B sound, they have that GRIT. Also, that’s something we’ve always worked toward because we grew up singing in the church. That’s where we come from. We come from the church!” – ChrystalChyna stated
