“I was living alone in Nashville during the devastating March 2020 tornado. I remember a neon green sky, sirens going off around the city, and the acute panic I felt. And I ended up turning on ‘Banana Pancakes’ by Jack Johnson to hear that line (‘Can’t you see that it’s just raining? There ain’t no need to go outside’). I’d never needed music more than in that moment, and that song was there for me. It picked up my fallen parts and held me together. Music has always done that for me, my entire life, in big ways and small. But this night sparked a change in my trajectory; the change that inspired this next song.
Music is one of the most powerful forms of comfort. What if I went into this project with just that intention? What if I really opened up and gave it my all? ‘My Love, My Love, My Love’ is the result. I hope it’s there for you when you need it, just like Jack was for me.” – Calista Garcia explained
Sometimes in the throes of turmoil, clarity surfaces. That was the experience of Calista Garcia, as she braced herself in Nashville in the Spring of 2020 for an incoming tornado. At that moment, the one thing she wanted was comfort and assurance, which she found in playing one of her favorite Jack Johnson songs over and over.
“My love, I’m gonna change the world for you.”
“When I needed the comfort and solidarity of music the most, when I was the loneliest and the most scared I’d ever been, music showed up for me. And that changed the game for me. From then on, I sought out and wrote mellower, sweeter, more authentic songs. That moment definitely reshaped my artistry.” – Calista Garcia explained
‘My Love, My Love, My Love’ is an affirmation of support from one lover to another, professing “I’m gonna change the world for you.” As a salve for our battered public psyche, the song manifests as a remedy for our times – a ballad of love, comfort, and hope.
Furthermore, the lyrics for “My Love, My Love, My Love” tell a lovely tale about a young woman who wants to change the world for her significant other. Apparently, she wants to make tomorrow alright and the world a kinder place for her partner to live in. Later, she tells her companion, “I love you forever.”

“If you’re hungry, I’ll put the oven on. And if you’re tired, you can sleep in my arms. And if you’re lonely, I’ll always be your friend, and if a screw gets loose, I’ll tighten it again. But these days are different, everyone’s sad all the time. And I don’t know how to restore your faith in humankind. And turning off the news won’t make it any less real. How can I shield you from the pain that you can’t help but feel?” – lyrics
As seen on Season 16 of NBC’s The Voice, Calista Garcia’s style hearkens back to ‘70s classic acts such as Fleetwood Mac, the Eagles, Paul Simon, and Joni Mitchell, but with a fresh modern twist.
Her debut EP collection, “Wild Woman,” garnered a nomination for “Best Roots/Country EP” in the 2020 Independent Music Awards. Also, the project won multiple nominations and awards from International Acoustic Music Awards (IAMA), the International Songwriting Competition (ISC), and the Mid-Atlantic Songwriting Contest (MASC).

“My Love, My Love, My Love”
“If you’re freezing, I will wrap you up. And if you’re thirsty, I will fill your cup. And if your vision is blurry and you can’t get home, I will pick you up. I’d never leave you alone. And tomorrow, when the day begins, and the yellow morning sun shines on your skin, your laugh will ring like a bell. Your smile will reach your eyes. All the blues you felt now painted into the sky.” – lyrics
‘My Love, My Love, My Love’ contains a relatable narrative, ear-pleasing vocals, and tuneful melodies that will resonate well with fans of Sheryl Crow, Brandi Carlile, and James Taylor. The likable tune possesses gentle guitar-laden instrumentation flavored with indie-folk and Americana elements. Furthermore, “My Love, My Love, My Love” is the first single from Calista Garcia’s upcoming six-song EP, “A Beautiful World,” scheduled for release on October 8, 2021.
