Bava is a rising pop-inspired singer-songwriter and producer. Not too long ago, she released a visually creative music video for her emotive pop ballad, titled, “I Wish.”

“I was so drained by a past relationship. I felt like my entire identity was wrapped up in theirs; that when people thought of me, they thought of us. I wanted to express that frustration somehow and headed to the piano to try. ‘I Wish’ poured out. This is my first ballad (although it evolves stylistically into a wild expansive synth experience by the end. I hope it gives someone out there the courage to move on. With her prior tracks, Bava has been creating music inspired by bold, energetic pop sounds, whereas “I Wish” finds Bava in a slightly more vulnerable light, in all its emotive ballad-like glory. Singing “I wish you and me never became us,” she expels a raw feeling of regret and pain, spotlighting not only her knack for lyricizing her feelings but also her powerful vocal ability. While it is still a record fueled by pop-inspired energy, it shows her representing a more stripped-back style.
In the video, produced by Morgan, viewers see Bava burning various photos of herself in an intriguing calm, and composed manner. As she reclaims her power and control, she is eradicating the person she once was when they were an “us.”

‘I Wish’ takes the form of Bava’s third single to date, with her first coming onto the scene earlier this year with the release of “Itsy Bitsy” and “Back to Me (Me Ma Moop).” As an artist still new to the game, Bava has already received impressive support online, on TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube, amassing almost 3 million followers and accumulating over 1 billion views. In doing so, she continues to grow as a budding force in upcoming pop music today.
Furthermore, “I Wish” will be featured on Bava’s forthcoming EP, entitled, “Imitate,” available on June 30th, 2023. The project is projected to further amplify Bava’s presence and name as a pop artist in the remainder of 2023.
