The Debutantes (Victoria George-Veale and Lavinia Rose) is a sisterly duo from Wales. Not too long ago, they released a wonderful music video for their “My Precious Love” single.
The Debutantes – “My Precious Love” music video
“We had such a happy time making this video. We feel that this comes over in the footage. Singing together is what we love most, and ‘My Precious Love’ was such a great song to record. We got really caught up in the spirit and energy of the lyrics and melody.” – The Debutantes
The dynamic, high-energy 1960s-inspired audiovisual (directed by Hamish Kay) finds The Debutantes performing in a glittery fun-filled environment alongside charismatic dancers. The music video, produced by Alan Jones, was skillfully edited and mastered by Nick Morris (an Emmy award-winning music video director).
‘My Precious Love’ sticks to the same winning formula that The Debutantes have become known for, this time with an original composition. Written by Alan Jones (and co-produced with Richard Jackson), the new tune promotes excitement, upliftment, and its energy shimmers with a poppy, sixties ‘Wall Of Sound’ vibe. Also, the nostalgic tune possesses luxurious instrumentation flavored with a lavish orchestration by John Rea, which harks back to the romantic tunes of The Ronettes and The Supremes.
“My Precious Love”
“My love of sixties music inspired me to write a bunch of songs reminiscent of that period. In particular the Phil Spector ‘Wall of Sound’ recordings by girl groups such as The Ronettes, The Shirelles, The Crystals, and The Supremes. For me, ‘My Precious Love’ sums up that period.” – Alan Jones
‘My Precious Love’ is the second single released from The Debutantes’ album, entitled, “Symphonic Pop”. Also, the song follows hot on the heels of their successful cover of Amen Corner’s chart-topping hit, “(If Paradise Is) Half As Nice”. Moreover, “My Precious Love” is a joyful anthem for post-Brexit 2020, with its unflagging positivity, free-spirited mood, and high-end enthusiasm.
“My Precious Love”
“Every night when I’m all alone, I can’t help feeling down. I think of all the things we’ve done and wonder what went wrong. Now my life’s just not the same, it hurts when we are apart. And all I want is to call your name, I love you with all my heart. And when the stars’ out at night and the moon is so bright and you’re there in my arms. I feel twice as nice, I’m in paradise, I’m in love with all your charms, My precious love.” – lyrics
