The Covasettes (@thecovasettes) is a Manchester-based indie-pop quartet. Not too long ago, they released a shimmering new indie-pop single, “Love In Polaroid,” via LAB Records.

Produced by Jamie McIntyre (the band’s bassist and talented engineer) before being mixed by John Catlin (Inhaler, Jordan Mackampa, Talk Show), “Love In Polaroid” quickly builds a soundscape of clean guitar tones, warming bass, tight drums, and subtle synths to create a warming, restrained indie backing. Topped with the understated, relaxed, and emotional lead vocals, the track balances its pop exploits with a fresh, summery, feel-good indie sound palette that harks back to early Bombay Bicycle Club and Two Door Cinema Club.
Speaking about the meaning behind the track, the band explained: “It’s almost as if when the clocks go back, something within this band chimes, and all of a sudden we come alive. We were born to make songs to drive along to on a hot summer day with your pals and this song is ready to do all the above and more. It’s a really fun song about the initial stages of dating someone and getting into a relationship where everything feels so fresh, exciting, and almost dream-like. I tried to encapsulate that feeling in a sense where it’s like nothing can do wrong for you, that’s how I want people to feel when they listen to it.”

Having made a name for themselves with sell-out shows across the UK and summers full of festival appearances, The Covasettes once again showcases the infectious, musicality, earworm melodies, and relatable lyricism that has seen them gain such widespread popularity.
