“Standing at the border with a white flag in your hand. Will the peace that we dreamed of ever come? There’s an inherent fault in all of us, the urge to destroy is born in some. What they can’t build up they will tear down, and the circle of destruction has begun.” – lyrics

‘Circle of Destruction’ finds Sofia Talvik singing about peace being in the world, walking through the desert, and swimming through the sea. She sings wonderfully, “If we can’t be first, if we cannot win, there’s a fear and there’s hate that grows within. Gotta find a way to not give in, together is the only way we’ll win.” Sofia couldn’t have said it any better. She certainly has a way with words and “Circle of Destruction” proves that. With its elegant temperament, fans of Phoebe Bridgers, Jade Bird, Sarah Jarosz, and Molly Tuttle will appreciate this song wholeheartedly.

‘Circle of Destruction’ is the first single airlifted from Sofia Talvik’s upcoming 9th studio album, entitled, “Center of the Universe,” available soon. The project finds Sofia bringing together her own distinctive melancholy, Laurel Canyon vibes, and modern folk mixed with bluegrass, further defining the path that is uniquely hers. Some pre-released singles have already charted in the top five on Folk Radio Charts in the United States.

“Will the truth that you’ve looked for ever come?”

“I wrote the song in the first days of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. It’s inspired by ‘70s protest anthems but has an all-over theme about the wish for peace and acceptance. It also covers the topic of immigration, which is not just war-based, and the search for truth.” – Sofia Talvik explained

Sofia Talvik is just embarking on a massive U.S. Tour, 50+ concerts in four months. She has performed at festivals ranging from Lollapalooza to SXSW. Primarily a live artist, Sofia has taken her music across Europe and through 48 U.S. states, riding in her 1989 Winnebago Warrior with her husband and sound technician Jonas at the wheel, digging deep into the American sound and channeling it through her Nordic roots to create a singular brand of Americana.
