Silent Nancy is a duo consisting of (singer) Katie Burke and (musician/producer) Rocksteady Fred. Shaka the King runs a vegan restaurant, stands on the barricade, and gets his worst frustrations out as a boxing instructor. Also, he raps late at night at the toughest underground hip-hop clubs in New York. Therefore, he has no problem making a song that questions society. Not too long ago, Nancy and Shaka released a conscious hip-hop and reggae tune, entitled, “Tell Me What Side I’m On,” produced by Rocksteady Fred via Upful Music.
Silent Nancy & Shaka the King – “Tell Me What Side I’m On” single
Katie Burke woke up sober one day and skyped Rocksteady Fred in Sweden. They talked about how to fill their upcoming album with fantastic music. ‘Tell Me What Side I’m On’ contains a relatable narrative and ear-pleasing vocalizations in the support of the Black Lives Matter movement. The edifying tune possesses rhythmic instrumentation flavored with contemporary reggae, modern soul, and natural hip-hop elements. Furthermore, “Tell Me What Side I’m On” serves as a tasty appetizer to what listeners can expect to hear on Silent Nancy’s upcoming album, available in the summer of 2021.
