“‘What If’ is about leaving behind the woes of the world and enjoying peace with your person. I released it on my dad’s birthday because I was diagnosed with cancer two days before and didn’t want him to be sad. As a child, he’d always take us to bodies of water for vacations and loved getting away to wherever water was – which has inspired me through the years.
I wrote ‘What If’ after feeling overwhelmed and ultimately feeling a desire to escape a world of chaos into a world of bliss. I later named the song ‘What If (Vibe Out II)’ as it felt like a continuation of the song ‘Vibe Out’ from my debut album, ‘Spread Love.’” – Shailaun explained
