Sammy Rae – “Living Room Floor” single

“When my old man come to visit he said, ‘Is it ever tough to look back? Does it get too loud? Do you ever wish you could have done the things you never done? Are you sentimental, mama? Are you proud? And you didn’t have to order out for me, I know it’s something that you can’t afford. Have you got any left?’ I tell him, ‘Babe, I made this with my own hands. Ain’t it something?’ Sitting cross-legged because we haven’t got a table yet. Saving up, gonna get a few chairs. Gonna get a whole set. I’ve got my bed and my closet and a living room floor. Woah, I got a living room floor, and I got it deep down in my soul.” – lyrics

‘Living Room Floor’ is an anthem about finding comfort in what you’ve got and making the most out of a little. The song hearkens back to the pre-pandemic days of relentless touring and crashing on living room floors.

‘Living Room Floor’ contains a relatable narrative, ear-welcoming vocals, and tuneful melodies. Also, the likable tune possesses vibrant instrumentation flavored with a warm alternative-pop aroma. Furthermore, “Living Room Floor” serves as a wonderful presentation to what listeners can expect to hear on Sammy Rae’s forthcoming EP, which features her previously released singles including “Whatever We Feel” and “Jackie Onassis“.

“‘Living Room Floor’ is a song about finding home and contentment in the present moment. Looking hopefully towards the future without discrediting the magic and importance of the present. It is a story-song recounting coming of age moments in the living rooms of apartments gone-by.” – Sammy Rae stated

Sammy Rae’s music gives listeners an opportunity to feel like they belong, and the freedom to be themselves. Also, she brings it all to life with “The Friends”, her touring bandmates. Complete with a rhythm section, horn section, keyboards, and two backup singers, Sammy Rae & The Friends have delivered their high-energy, spirited, and unrestrained shows to sold-out audiences in the Northeast and beyond. Most recently including New York City’s Le Poisson Rouge, Boston’s The Sinclair, Burlington’s Higher Ground, and Chicago’s Schubas.

“I am in my own lane, I will not let myself down.”
