“This song means so much to me. I wrote it during a time when I didn’t think I could write… but as always, songwriting proved to be my safety net. Amidst what felt like an inescapable grey cloud, I fell into this comforting blanket of a song that I can now look back on and say was the genesis of my favorite journey thus far. Finding me. Thank you to my friends Collin, Alex, and Adeliz, for making that day so magical. Dean-you’re the best and I love our song, thank you. The hope that you may find some healing/comfort in my music is why I write. I hope you find that in this song and know that the journey to self-discovery, love, peace, joy, though it may be painful-will be so worth it.” – Ruth B. explained

“28” tells a heartbreaking tale about a 28-year-old woman’s departure from a relationship that wasn’t rewarding. On her way out the front door, she tells her ex-significant other, “I love you more than I love myself and I hate that there is nobody else.” What hurts her most is that she put him first above her friends and family, just like he wanted her to. She gave him all that she could give but he simply took her for granted. With a heavy heart, she later tells him, “Even though I loved you, you know I had to leave. I guess I had to lose you on the way to finding me.”

“28” contains a sad road to self-discovery narrative that will surely resonate well with anyone who recently broke up with their significant other. With a passionate voice, Ruth B. sings, “How did we go from movies on Tuesdays to all our memories packed in a suitcase?” 28 answers that intriguing question while also providing an emotive, piano-laden instrumentation that compliments Ruth B.’s and Dean Lewis’ eloquent vocals that cut so deep like a wound.

“I guess I had to lose you on the way to finding me.”

“Ruth B.’s singular voice and incredible songwriting set her in a class by herself. KYYBA Music, in partnership with my longtime friend/music industry vet Alan Grunblatt and 300 Entertainment’s Sparta Distribution, is the right team to lead this remarkable talent in the next chapter of her career.” – stated Tel Ganesan, Founder of KYYBA Music

Since her 2015 debut with the worldwide chart-topper “Lost Boy,” Ruth B. emerged as an immediately captivating artist who drifts between moody realism and a dreamworld of her own making. She’s gone on to release three important projects, earned three Juno nominations, including Album of the Year and Artist of the Year, and surpassed over four billion total streams.

Tyler Perry’s feature film, “A Jazzman’s Blues,” featured Ruth B.’s beautiful composition, “Paper Airplanes,” which was used as the end title song. To follow it all up came “Jupiter Rising” from R&B superstar, Rod Wave. He utilized Ruth’s “Paper Airplanes” single as the musical bed for his hit single.

Furthermore, 2023 brought more hits with “Always You,” the theme song from the major motion picture, “Maybe I Do,” and Lyn Lapid’s hot new Republic Records track, “Do You Really,” composed by and featuring Ruth B. on vocals.

Dean Lewis – “How Do I Say Goodbye” (Video)

The monster hit by Dean Lewis “How Do I Say Goodbye” has touched hundreds of millions of listeners as he sings about processing the looming death of a parent. “How Do I Say Goodbye” wasn’t Lewis’ first single to captivate a major audience: his 2019 single “Be Alright” earned him a spot in the Spotify Billions Club and now sits at a not-too-shabby four billion stream count. Mr. Lewis is wrapping up his sold-out U.S. headlining tour right now.
