River Mara is an up-and-coming London-based singer-songwriter, composer, and musician from Romania. Not too long ago, she released a music video for her debut single, entitled, “Lockdown Love.”

‘Lockdown Love’ tells an intriguing tale about a young woman who shares a complicated relationship with her significant other. Apparently, she’s practically going insane trying to figure out why her companion saying he needs space, and then invites her to his place. She begins to question his love and later admits that their relationship will surely lose its flame because she’s here and he’s there.
‘Lockdown Love’ is an ode to any relationship affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The vintage-meets-contemporary tune contains a relationship-based narrative, ear-pleasing vocals, and tuneful melodies that will resonate well with fans of Bruno Mars, Pharrell Williams, and Dua Lipa. Also, “Lockdown Love” possesses funky instrumentation flavored with a groovy electro-pop vibration. Furthermore, the song serves as a wonderful introduction to what listeners can expect to hear from River Mara in the near future.

River Mara’s diverse sound consists of classical and contemporary music. She started composing classical music at the age of 10. Later, her passion for creating music branched out into songwriting.
Mara relocated to London four years ago to study at the Purcell School for young musicians. Currently, she is studying classical composition at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama.

In 2016, Mara participated in the 6th season of Romania’s Got Talent. She performed her original songs, which landed her in 4th place at the finale of the show. Subsequently, she was commissioned to write several songs for Andra, one of the most popular singers in Romania. So far, two of those songs, “Sweet Dreams” and “Lie To Me,” have accumulated over 350 million views on YouTube. Also, “Sweet Dreams” has been remixed by Radio Killer, T‑Mass, and Pascal Junior.
In the recent musical projects, Mara was a singer and co-writer in the duo, Mihai and Mara, who were finalists of Open Mic UK.
