RITUAL & Tove Styrke release a music video for their “Love Me Back” single

RITUAL is a London-based trio and Tove Styrke is a popular singer-songwriter from Sweden. Not too long ago, they released a music video for “Love Me Back”, a lovely electro-pop tune from RITUAL’s “Dreamers Never Learn” project.

RITUAL & Tove Styrke – “Love Me Back”

“Musically, I see it as somewhere between a modern electronic pop brand that has features with big artists like a Daft Punk, Disclosure, or Marshmello. But one that also has a very real soul and depth, with meaning and emotion behind the lyrics that are all interconnected. And there’s this indie melancholy about it that’s more in keeping with the great British guitar bands like The Smiths right thru to Coldplay.” – Adam Midgely speaks about “Dreamers Never Learn”

‘Love Me Back’ serves as the bedrock for “Dreamers Never Learn”, which contains a kaleidoscopic array of 21st-century love songs. Also, the song represents what we can expect to hear from the trio in 2019.

‘Love Me Back’ contains a relatable storyline, sugary vocals, and vibey instrumentation flavored with electro-pop and modern rock elements. Also, the sky-reaching tune was co-written with Grammy-nominated hitmaker Emily Warren (Dua Lipa, The Chainsmokers, and Shawn Mendes).

RITUAL consists of Adam Midgely, Gerard O’Connell, and Tommy Baxter.

“I say, ‘I’m not wasted on you’. I can still lie when it’s true. It’s all in the timing. What we do is talking, but we’re saying nothing now. If you’re not walking away if you’re not feeling the same. I know what you’re gonna say do please don’t love me back.” – lyrics

RITUAL has spent the past year working feverishly on their project inside a residential studio in Bel Air, LA. They have traveled from LA to London, Sweden to New Zealand, and back again. Also, they’ve hand-selected important female voices to help tell their stories of love and loss.

Not too long ago, they wrote Dua Lipa‘s “Hotter Than Hell” single, worked with artists from Rita Ora to Grace Carter, and made contributions to chart-topping Little Mix and Avicci albums. Since then, they have developed a passionate underground fanbase, amassed millions of streams online, and collaborated with 6LACK and Denzel Curry.

RITUAL – “Love Me Back” (acoustic lyric version)

“Every song we make gets stripped down to acoustic guitar and vocal at some point during the writing process. It’s always exciting to hear the song in it’s rawest form. If it feels good at that point we usually know we’re on to something. Creating a version like this really allows the vocal performance and lyric to shine, so you might hear a side to the song you hadn’t noticed before.” – RITUAL

RITUAL’s plan is to collaborate with some of today’s essential female vocalists. Also,  their “Love Me Back” single was constructed to build excitement around their “Dreamers Never Learn” project.
