“‘Pick the People’ is a song about self-love. More specifically, accepting the love and friendships you actually deserve, instead of settling for something less. Musically, I wanted to keep it simple with a piano progression and minimal percussion. But the song gradually builds throughout, ultimately incorporating a live horn/sax section and a ton of harmonies.” – Reed Deming explained

‘Pick the People’ contains an evergreen narrative, ear-pleasing vocals, and tuneful melodies. The likable tune possesses vibrant instrumentation flavored with a friendly indie-pop aroma. Furthermore, “Pick the People” serves as a wonderful presentation of what listeners can expect to hear from Reed Deming in the near future.

“I make this music for myself, ultimately. It’s a public journal, a compilation of notes-to-self. I can listen back to these and re-feel everything I felt when I wrote them. So even though the moment passes, it’s never lost.” – Reed Deming stated

Reed Deming was thrust into the public eye at the age of 13 by way of the reality competition show The X Factor USA. He secured a Top 24 spot before elimination. Between 2012-2016, Deming released three EPs as well as a handful of singles, most notably, “Crash Test Dummy,” the first single from his sophomore EP. After a whirlwind of touring in 2015 and 2016, he decided to step away from the teen social media universe to reassess his career. From this transitory period came a wealth of technical development and life experience. In 2018, he released his fourth EP, “Follow Me To Freedom,” and sporadically released music throughout 2019.
