“This song came to be during a pretty confusing time in my life. I had just graduated from college, working my first full-time job, living in my hometown, and truly not sure of what I wanted for my life. So, as any songwriter would do, I sat down with my guitar and my notebook and wrote how I was feeling at the moment. The words and melody just flowed out. I realized, where I am, is not truly where I wanted to be.
Fast-forward to three years later, I meet the love of my life, and we moved three hours away from everything that I’ve known. Although my life has changed, music always stayed the same. Playing shows and sharing my songs with whoever would listen. One day, Matt (my husband), said to me, ‘Why don’t you record ‘Bye’?’ I thought he was joking at first, but when I realized he was serious, I decided, why not? Recording my songs has always been a dream of mine to do. So, I searched and found Greg White at SG studio and created this amazing song that I am able to share with all of you today. It’s funny to look back on my life when I wrote this song. How I was feeling so incomplete at that moment. I can say that I have found the feeling that I’ve been searching for. I am so excited for the future, whatever it may hold but, until then, bye bye.” – Michelle Kay explained
