In her own words, Veronika River explains, “Broken to Pieces was written years after a horrible relationship I was in, and was cheated on multiple times. Strangely, my boyfriend at the time still wanted to stay with me even after being with so many other girls, but I had to end things for my own sanity. I couldn’t let him continue to take advantage of me in so many ways. I hope this song is an inspiration for anyone in a bad relationship to leave.”
