“We created ‘Kindness’ as a way to vent. The intention of this song is to be an easy listen, nothing too complex and hip-hop driven. So many times we allow people to take advantage of us, and they continue to do it because they think they can. So we wrote this as an ode to the old us. We don’t want to be those people anymore. We still treat people that hurt us with kindness and respect, but we don’t want to be associated beyond that. Also, we hope this song helps others realize their worth and see that it’s okay to separate yourself from those who don’t want what’s best for you and just kill ’em with kindness.” – Lauren and Dre
‘Kindness’ contains a relatable storyline, harmonious rap vocals, and melodic instrumentation flavored with trap, contemporary rap, and hip-hop elements.

Lauren and Dre, from two different ethnic backgrounds, met in 2015.
Lauren, a small-town girl with big dreams, traveled to St. Louis multiple times a week to become a recording artist.
Dre, experienced at producing and recording in a studio, began producing tracks for Lauren on the regular.
After doing a variety of shows in different states, they eventually became Lauren and Dre.
