La2us releases a creative music video for their “Funkadelicacy” single

La2us is a musical duo comprised of D’usé Saida and LaChaleur. Not too long ago, they released a creative music video for their “Funkadelicacy” single, inspired by Parliament’s “Give Up The Funk” song.

La2us – “Funkadelicacy” music video

“The music video was actually a crazy story. The first thing we did was choose costumes and who we wanted to bring to life in them. From Rick James to Farrah Fawcett to the ‘Scooby Doo’ crew. Our videographer bailed on us last minute after we had already booked our space. So, we again, last minute, found a videographer in Miami. His name is Rich (rovproductions). He runs his own production company and he loved the vision we had and offered to come up and help us out. Then we put together the concept in about 10 hours at home and shot it over the course of a week. We shot in vw buses, nail salons, our own living room, everywhere. Also, we made our small budget during a pandemic stretch. We’re very proud of what we accomplished.” – La2us explained

‘Funkadelicacy’ contains a relatable narrative, ear-pleasing vocals, and tuneful melodies. The likable tune possesses vibey instrumentation flavored with UK House, jazzy funk, and psychedelic elements. Furthermore, “Funkadelicacy” serves as a tasty appetizer to what listeners can expect to hear from La2us in the near future.

“Meet me on the 9th cloud, let’s get lifted right now.”

“Funk has many meanings. Good energy, love, dancing/groovy, dirty, marijuana, etc. La2us have flavor and style. Outsiders get addicted to what they’re offering and want ‘The Funk’ too, as displayed in the music video. The concept of the video is La2us time traveling to a new era by taking a ‘Funkadelicacy’ pill. It brought us back to the ‘70s where you’ll see some classic ‘70s references. We brought some scenes from TV shows to life like ‘Scooby Doo’ and ‘That ‘70s Show.’” – La2us explained

Not too long ago, the wave sent La2us the “Funkadelicacy” instrumental, and they had no idea that they were receiving a house beat. Later, they approached the song with a different flavor than most would do with that kind of instrumentation.

“We didn’t choose the psychedelic music genre, it chose us! The moment we heard the sound waves from that instrumental we sang what came through us and that was all from natural vibrations. We really will do any genre, we are very multi-functional. Any beat that speaks to us we can create a language for it.” – La2us explained

“This hit got me lit as a muh. Shout out to the plug, he gave me the stuff. Addicted, I guess it’s a drug. Puff-puff-puff, won’t you pass me the blunt? Meet me on the 9th cloud, let’s get lifted right now. If it ain’t that loud boy pipe down. Eyes real low ‘bouta sign out.” – lyrics
