Josie Dunne – “Same (Alternative Version)” single
“I could tell how you felt for a little while now. Innocent, dropping hints, but it wasn’t coming on. I don’t say it, staying patient, kinda fun to drag it out. And you say, ‘I love you, I love you, I love you’. And I say, ‘Same’.” – lyrics
‘Same (Alternative Version)’ tells an interesting tale of a young woman and her significant other.
Apparently, it’s Friday night, and they are inside a grocery store pushing a shopping cart down aisle four.
Moments later, the guy reveals that he is head-over-heels in love with her, and she feels the same affectionate way about him.
‘Same (Alternative Version)’ contains a relatable storyline and ear-comforting vocals. Also, the likable tune possesses ukulele-driven instrumentation flavored with an indie-folk aroma.
“I was sitting in my room, noodling on my ukulele, trying to learn the chords to ‘Same’ before a show I had in Nashville. I came up with that finger-picking ukulele part and thought it would make for a cool stripped back version of the song. Also, I am super inspired by folk and singer-songwriter music so I wanted it to feel very influenced by that. I’m really stoked with how it turned out.” – Josie Dunne
