“Good luck for summer, it’s such a bummer that you got eyes where your heart should be. Pullin’ a runner, guess she’s a stunner, and she’s decided my fate for me. Thank You! I should say, Thank You! ‘Cause I’m so grateful she saved me time. Thank You! No, really, thank you. I’m just so grateful you wasted time.” – lyrics

‘Thank You’ finds Jess Ball holding nothing back as she grapples with feelings of wasted effort and irritation when a partner leaves you for another. The sentiment echoed in “Thank You” is one listeners can relate to, and Jess has wrapped this one up in her signature pop-inspired sound that begs to be sung along to. Later, she admits, “I was a mess and so upset, but I was alright. Up and down emotionally, but I’m still alive.”

In her own words, Jess Ball explains, “‘Thank You’ explores the anger and annoyance that people often experience at the end of a relationship, despite what the title otherwise suggests. Though the song sings ‘thank you,’ it really means ‘screw you,’ giving the song a really sarcastic tone throughout. Most people could probably think of a time when they haven’t been treated well, or have been stuffed around by someone, and this is a tribute to all of them. While some relationships serve you some good and teach you lessons worth learning, others are a complete waste of time.”

‘Thank You’ has all the ingredients to be a post-summer hit, with its vibrant guitar riff and warm vocals. Also, the song follows on the heels of Jess Ball’s debut solo single, “Upside Down,” which made a sizable impression across radio and social media alike.
