“When you woke up this morning and you turn on your cell… and you check on your phone, yeah, I sure that you saw me – all on your TL and I know you see me all on their stories. Makes it so hard to ignore me or try to avoid me.” – lyrics

“Miss Me Yet” tells an intriguing tale about a sophisticated young woman who lives on the Westside. She’s trying to enjoy her best life and is currently in search of a local Best Buy to buy a device to monitor her heart rate. On her mind, her problematic significant other, and their off-and-on relationship, which is starting to stress her out, and has her on the defense. They started off as close friends, now they can’t even be friends. To safeguard her vulnerable heart, she keeps her guard up high, because she’s afraid of what might happen if she doesn’t. Later, she tells her companion, “You know you my weakness. You know that I’m feeling you. You miss me yet?”

‘Miss Me Yet’ hinges on a quirky head-nodding bounce laced with a warm groove. A plinking xylophone glows like a heavenly harp through the glitchy beat. “Miss Me Yet” also announces the arrival of Jastin Martin’s anxiously awaited debut album, “Miss Me Yet,” landing on August 11, 2023. The project boasts the standout singles “Right My Wrongs,” “Why Not?,” and Jastin’s recent collaboration with Maleek Berry, titled, “Replacement.”

“You dropped the ball. You wanna call me?”

“My writing is so detailed that I wouldn’t have to tell anyone a song is about them – they would know it. I’ll even cry sometimes when I’m just writing and playing my guitar at the park. It’s a feeling of emotion like no other. If I’m gonna give something of myself, I might as well give all of it.” – Jastin Martin explained

Jastin Martin is the calm before the storm. Very peaceful and relaxing. But there’s a lot of drama and pain inside her heart if you know where to look. Her deep and personal lyrics oftentimes detail the ins and outs of challenging relationships that her audience can relate to. Whether she’s writing lyrics in her bedroom, at the local park, or figuring out a melody to a guitar loop from her rooftop complex, the process remains intimate, pure, and organic like vegetables found in Whole Foods. If you haven’t hopped on Jastin Martin’s train yet, you might as well do so now because it’s about to leave the station for higher heights really soon.
