Listen to Ivan Cornejo’s New Heartbreak Anthem, “Baby Please”

Ivan Cornejo (@ivancornejoo) is a 19-year-old Musica Mexicana break-out star in Riverside, California. Not too long ago, he released a lovely music video for his new heartbreak anthem, “Baby Please,” directed by Edgar Daniel via Interscope Records.

“This song was inspired by the desperate desire we feel during our lowest moments in a breakup. We hate the attachment but love the thought of a rekindled love. I wanted this song to feel like I’m vulnerable but at the same time willing to fight for her.” – Ivan Cornejo explained

“Baby Please” is a sad Sierreño heartbreak anthem that showcases Ivan Cornejo’s signature moody tone. Throughout the song, he pleads with his significant other to remember their journey and to think about how beautiful the relationship could be if they handled it with care going forward. The song was written by Ivan at home in Riverside and produced by his longtime collaborator, Frank Rio.

The release follows Cornejo’s RodeoHouston debut last week, where he delivered a magical performance to a record-breaking sold-out crowd of over 72,000 spectators.

Cornejo was adorned in a custom Manuel Cuevas (@manuelcoutour) piece exclusively made for this special performance, which consisted of an elegant black and gold bolero jacket – tailored by the iconic Nashville-based atelier who has designed custom outfits for legends including Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, and John Lennon to name a few.

Cornejo is currently in the studio working on his new album. In the coming months, he is set to headline the Sueños Festival in Chicago and Summerfest in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In January, Billboard featured Cornejo as a digital cover star in their “Genre Now” series.

2023 embraced a bevy of career-defining milestones including a 46-show tour with performances at Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits as well as more than 150,000 tickets sold in his headline shows. Cornejo shattered the record for most tickets ever sold by a Latin artist (dethroning a record held by Vicente Fernandez) at the Toyota Arena in Ontario, CA.

Last year (2023), Cornejo released the groundbreaking singles “Aquí Te Espero” (+85 Million combined streams) and “Donde Estas” (+60 Million combined streams) and signed with Interscope Records. Throughout his young career, Cornejo has garnered over 1.6 billion combined streams – and remains one of the most streamed Latin artists in the United States. Cornejo has already left an impressive mark on the music industry. There is no doubt that 2024 promises to see him continue on his fast evolution into global stardom.
