Experience the Musical Stylings of Isa Mari’s “Three Four Five” Song

Isa Mari (@isamarimusic) is an up-and-coming LA-based singer-songwriter from Miami, Florida. Not too long ago, she released an emotive pop single, “Three Four Five.”

“Three Four Five” captures the emotional rollercoaster that can happen when catching feelings in a casual relationship. So many twenty-somethings, myself included, can be guilty of defining a relationship before it’s even begun. We think it can be that simple. The song shows how this is usually easier said than done and feelings can change when you’re spending intimate moments with someone. The nature of the relationship seems to shift as just one time turns into three, four five, and more. As I recount how this situationship unfolded, it becomes clear that I want something more from this person than I initially anticipated.

The sound echoes the confessional storytelling of pop singer-songwriters like Julia Michaels, while also sneaking in an R&B flow that is reminiscent of artists like Kehlani. The lyric ebbs and flows through feelings of doubt, excitement, and vulnerability. The writing process took place throughout the course of this relationship developing, so these different emotions were mixed into the song as I was feeling them in real time. The accompanying visuals have a consistent bed theme, a nod at how these relationships can get so complicated when they tend to take place somewhere so simple.” – Isa Mari explained

“Three Four Five” contains emotionally charged vocals and a chill vibe that will resonate well with Sabrina Carpenter and Ariana Grande supporters. Isa Mari sings, “Every time we say it’s just one night, so strange that I’m back here.” Surely, good things are hard to ignore, and Mari can attest to that. Later, she admits, “I thought that it would be one time with you, but one turned into two. Then two turned into three, four, five.”

“Three Four Five” follows mildly on the heels of Isa Mari’s lovely debut single, “Forget Me,” a post-breakup anthem that finds Mari at a shallow and vulnerable point in her life.

Mari’s “Forget Me” was included on TREBEL’s Today’s Hits R&B playlist, along with major artists such as SZA and Justin Bieber. Mari was the cover of Symphonic’s Fresh New Music playlist and was featured on their Future Is Female playlist. Her “Forget Me” single also earned a #13 spot on the top 25 of SubmitHub‘s RnB/Funk/Soul popular chart.

Mari’s first two singles “Forget Me” and “Three Four Five” are the first glimpses into what she has in store for her supporters. Her songs are passionate with emotional storytelling and a visual world that gives listeners insight into her creativity and humor.

Isa Mari embraces honesty, weaving raw emotions through her rich vocals and personal lyrics. Citing influences ranging from R&B artists like Kehlani and Jhené Aiko, to Pop singer-songwriters like Julia Michaels and JP Saxe, Mari has developed her sound that combines elements of both genres. An avid overthinker and shy singer growing up, Mari is passionate about inspiring listeners to push through their self-doubt.

Mari began developing her artistry in Boston, while she attended Berklee College of Music. Her time in Boston led her to unique opportunities, such as performing with the renowned veteran in the industry, Gabrielle Goodman (Chaka Khan, Roberta Flack, Michael Buble), and honing in on her songwriting craft with GRAMMY and Emmy award-winning songwriter/producer, David “Swagg R’Celious” Harris (H.E.R., Kehlani).

Since moving to L.A., Mari has been mentored by and received accolades from twelve-time GRAMMY-nominated powerhouse vocalist, Ledisi. When describing Mari’s voice, Ledisi commented that she “couldn’t believe that voice was coming out of that body.”
