Information Society releases an electro-pop tune, entitled, “Bennington”

Information Society (Kurt, Paul, & James) is the original ‘80s Synthpop innovators. Not too long ago, they released an electro-pop tune, entitled, “Bennington”.

Information Society – “Bennington” single

“Well, I still love the girl from Hennipen. Even though I’ll never see her eyes. I love those liquid eyes and I still love the girl. Time and time again, I’ll see her in my dreams.” – lyrics

‘Bennington’ tells an interesting tale of a guy who is in love with a girl who lives inside his dreams every now and then. Apparently, he misses her dearly, and just for one more night, he yearns to see her velvet eyes.

The likable tune contains a relatable storyline and vintage rock vocals. Also, the song possesses vibey instrumentation flavored with retro-rock and indie-alternative elements.

“‘Bennington’ is an InSoc-ified cover of an obscure John Maus track. It was reworked as a homage to InSoc’s Minneapolis hometown Hennington neighborhood. When the members of InSoc were in their twenties, they spent their time on or around Hennepin Ave in Minneapolis, so reworking Bennington to Hennington just seemed to fit nicely. The song has a weird association with the elite college, even though Maus actually was referring (apparently) to a small town in southern Minnesota.” – Information Society

Information Society is best known for their “Running” and “What’s On Your Mind (Pure Energy)” singles.

We recommend adding their “Bennington” tune to your personal playlist. Also, let us know how you feel about it in the comment section below.
