Igimèjí is an up-and-coming band based in Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas. Not too long ago, they released an adorable nu-disco single, titled, “Crazy(For You),” via Kalamity Jane Records.

‘Crazy(For You)’ is sure to make everyone head over to the dancefloor to get their boogie on. The energetic tune possesses thudding drums and groovy bass-laden instrumentation flavored with electro-pop, disco-pop, and nu-disco elements. Furthermore, “Crazy(For You)” follows fresh on the heels of Igimèjí’s 2021 EP, entitled, “Two Trees.” We’re crazy for “Crazy(For You)” and you will be too once you press play and hear what all the fuss is about.

The story of Igimèjí is one that is filled with love, adventure, and music. It all started in 2016 when Kayla Scales (vocals/keys) and Oladipo Oyediran (vocals/guitar) started seeing each other. Almost immediately, they started recording and writing music together as a way of communicating their love for each other. In 2017, the duo relocated to Kathmandu, Nepal, where they lived, worked, and continued to make music for a year.

After receiving a positive response from the Nepali music community, the two globetrotters returned home to Dallas-Fort Worth and started performing at open mics. While finding their quirky R&B sound, they crafted diverse music ranging from oldies, to rock, to alternative works and collaborative hip-hop with other local Artists in Dallas-Fort Worth like Chef Dee, Vyse, and Ugly Luv.
Igimèjí currently fills out their sound as a band, creating and performing with Jelen Farrow (drums) and Aaron Payton (bass). The band hopes to continue creating, writing, and performing music together while at the same time creating art in their independent projects.
