Grace Otto releases an honest post-breakup tune, entitled, “You’re the Worst”

Grace Otto is an up-and-coming singer-songwriter based in Phoenix, Arizona. Not too long ago, she released an honest post-breakup tune, entitled, “You’re the Worst,” produced by Hiram Hernandez.

“I wrote this song in the middle of my toughest breakup. Basically, the guy I thought was the love of my life was cheating on me with his best friend (ouch). But tough break-ups make for great material. I basically emotionally exploded. Mascara stained and manic, and wrote the song in about 20 minutes. After that, I took the prototype around town, performing at open mics until my friend put me in touch with the producer. We re-wrote the song after he made a killer beat, and both immediately fell in love with it. Also, we ended up doing an entire album together over what ended up being the COVID crisis. So, if you like this, get ready for more music!” – Grace Otto explained

‘You’re the Worst’ contains a post-relationship-based narrative, ear-pleasing vocalization, and tuneful melodies that will resonate well with fans of P!NK, Miley Cyrus, and Avril Lavigne. The heartfelt tune possesses energetic instrumentation flavored with an emotional alternative-pop vibration. Furthermore, “You’re the Worst” serves as a tasty appetizer to what listeners can expect to hear from Grace Otto in the near future.

“Have you ever experienced manic heartbreak? The kind of heartbreak where you don’t know if you want to get back together with them or commit arson.” – Grace Otto stated

Grace Otto can’t remember a time when she didn’t feel a connection and a deep love for music. Her earliest memories were sitting on her grandfather’s lap as he jammed with the family jazz band, performing Aretha Franklin’s “Respect” at her local theatre company when she was six years old, and wildly jumping from couch-to-couch screaming P!NK at the top of her little lungs. Although music was a keystone in her life, Grace didn’t actually start writing original pop songs until 2018.

After graduating with her BA in theatre in 2019, Grace knew she needed to give music a shot and got in touch with Hiram Hernandez. At the core of every piece of art that Grace touches is the revolutionary love of self and others. She is bold, theatrical, honest, and dedicated to expressing her small corner of the kaleidoscope of humanity.
