“In the smoke clouds, promise me when the sky gets dark you’ll come down. Hold my hand, we’ll figure this out. When the lines in the snow fade away. I’ll be here when they’re gone, you could stay in the smoke clouds with me.” – lyrics

‘Smokeclouds’ tells an interesting tale of a young woman who shares a problematic relationship with a pill-popping drug-addict. Apparently, he likes Adderall mixed with alcohol and Sprite mixed with cough syrup.

Later, the sun comes out while he’s blacking out, and she stands there quietly, not wanting to kill his vibe because she loves him.

‘Smokeclouds’ contains a relatable storyline, ear-welcoming vocals, and lush instrumentation flavored with sentimental elements.

“‘Smokeclouds’ is a song about the highs and lows of drug addiction and the damage that it does to personal relationships. Most people at some point in their life either cope with addiction or know someone who struggles. Regardless of the situation, ‘Smokeclouds’ creates an optimistic and loving approach to the topic suggesting in the chorus, one day the two people will be reunited again.” – Grace Gaustad
