Generationals releases a dazzling indie-rock single, entitled, “Waking Moment”

Generationals (Grant Widmer and Ted Joyner) is a successful band from New Orleans. Not too long ago, they released a visualizer for their dazzling indie-rock single, titled, “Waking Moment,” via Polyvinyl Records.

“Oh my sweet love, I know I’ll never get to remind you of the days that you regret. I’ll write these letters to you, I’ll throw your coffin shade. No matter what you said when every waking moment is the place where you fall. Spare me your worst, maybe if I stay a while. I saw you first, standing in the peristyle. Find me just ten years older, not much has seemed to change. How did you just forget? Oh, my sweet love, I hear the curtain call. Disabuse me of that notion after all. I’ll write these letters to you, not much has seemed to change, no matter what you said.” – lyrics

‘Waking Moment’ contains a relatable narrative and pleasing vocals that will resonate well with fans of  MGMT, Foster The People, and The Shins. The energetically memorable tune possesses thudding drums and electric-guitar-laden instrumentation flavored with alternative, indie rock, and indie-pop elements. Furthermore, “Waking Moment” is a tasty appetizer to what listeners can expect to hear on Generationals’ forthcoming album, “Heatherhead,” the band’s first project in four years, and it is available on June 2nd, 2023.

Through scrapped sessions, tornados, and pandemics, “Heatherhead” is the record that the Generationals have been pursuing from the start. Previously working with legends like Richard Swift, and on this one, producer Nick Krill (The War on Drugs, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah), collaborators Small Black, Seth Kaufman (Floating Action), and more.
