“Depression is a funny thing; you can be in denial for a long time; when I read back over my notes and lyrics I realized there may be a deeper issue. I started writing the lyrics to this song at the height of summer; it would be beautiful outside and I’d spend the days in bed with my phone turned off and my curtains drawn, I didn’t know how to engage with the world so I hid away.
