“I’m not one to dig up graves when I said we’re done. I meant it in every way. Did that not get through your brain? ‘Cause you keep tryna’ pull me six feet under. Take my life away. This love is history. So why’re you bringing up the past when I just got free from your grasp? Baby, please, why can’t you mourn like a normal person and let us rest in peace.” – lyrics

‘R.I.P.’ tells an intriguing tale about a young woman who recently departed from a problematic friendship. Apparently, she had to learn to let go, and now, she believes it’s time for her friend to do the same. Later, she tells her friend, “You don’t miss me – you’re just disappointed that you lost the one who loves you most.”

“I wrote this song a little over a year ago about a toxic friendship I had with someone who was not good for me. After separating, they kept trying to come back into my life. From the emotions I felt going through this, I wrote a song called ‘R.I.P.’ about letting the past stay in the past. As far as the music, I was inspired a lot by Amy Winehouse and her soulful sound which I tried to channel in the vocals and production.” – Chloe Moore explained

‘R.I.P.’ contains a relatable narrative, ear-pleasing vocals, and tuneful melodies. The likable tune possesses guitar-laden instrumentation flavored with a soulful indie-R&B vibration. Furthermore, “R.I.P.” serves as a tasty appetizer to what listeners can expect to hear from Chloe Moore in the near future as she continues to release new music.

“R.I.P. to the memories, I remembered everything, I would’ve gave you anything. R.I.P., baby, rest in peace. You were such a friend to me but now you’re dead to me!”
