Chess Galea (@chess_galea) is a Maltese-British singer, artist, model, and songwriter. Not too long ago, she continued her fight for women’s rights with the release of her new “Girls Just Wanna” single via CG Records.

“Girls Just Wanna” is about everyday things women still face in the 21st century such as the gender pay gap, violence against women, political decisions against their bodies, and harassment. “You all act like you’ve never seen a woman before,” Chess Galea sings for all the women who have had enough and are now clapping back at the status quo. “But there’s only so long you can quiet me down. The rage fills the bomb drops and now I’m singing this song.”

Chess Galea has been played on acclaimed radio stations such as BBC London, Surrey, Cornwall, and Hoxton Radio. Her song has been “track of the week” several times on BBC Introducing South-West.
Chess recently wrote the lyrics for the Nintendo Switch “Bayonetta 3” theme song “Al Fine” which also features her vocals. Listeners can also hear her on the song “Moonlight Serenade,” in the Nintendo Switch game, which won Best Action Game of 2022. In 2023, Chess wrote a song for K-pop girl band, Apink, called, “Candy,” for their album, “SELF.”
Chess believes in supporting feminism, and equality and contributes towards mental health awareness. A lot of the time proceeds from her self-designed merchandise and live shows go to aid organizations supporting these causes and charities. Chess also hosts a podcast called “The Big Vag Energy Podcast.”
Chess is also an incredible vocal coach and her students have reached success on TV both in singing and acting, having one student in The Voice and another in “The Umbrella Academy.”
