Channel 13 is an unsigned duo based in Oklahoma City. Not too long ago, they released a music video for their charming alternative-pop tune, entitled, “Uneasy”.
Channel 13 – “Uneasy” music video
“Late at night when I’m uneasy, waiting to hear your sound. All you want is my attention even when you never come around. I don’t remember but I won’t ever forget. My vision don’t feel right, I look around me, the space is empty I know. But I feel it caving in and I don’t have a way out.” – lyrics
‘Uneasy’ tells an emotional tale of a guy who shares a problematic relationship with his significant other. Apparently, their failing relationship is stuck in rotation, and the guy seems to care a whole lot more about it than his companion does. Although the lyrics suggest the theme of a broken relationship, the real intent dives deeper than the surface.
The Bound for Glory Productions-directed audiovisual gives listeners a glimpse into this metaphor. Furthermore, the video leaves the storyline ambiguous to allow viewers’ minds to fill in the gaps.
“I feel like I’m seeing the ground floor of something big happening.” – Carolyn Pierson
“Songwriting can be hit or miss. Sometimes we feel perfectly in-sync with our creative flow, while other times it seems like we’re chasing an impossible revelation that will never come our way. All artists can empathize with that. Although these emotions of doubt were what influenced ‘Uneasy’, we’ve learned that inspiration is possible even in moments of uncertainty ” – Channel 13
Channel 13 consists of Sam Marino and Saxon Bryant. The duo began writing together in the fall of 2017, and their musical influences include Phil Collins, Foster the People, and HONNE.
Their “Uneasy” single contains a relatable storyline, pleasing vocals, and tuneful melodies. Also, the likable tune possesses guitar-driven instrumentation flavored with a synth sound reminiscent of ‘80s pop.
