BIRNA is a 15-year-old singer-songwriter from Iceland. Not too long ago, she released a lovely hard rock cover of Lady GaGa’s & Bradley Cooper’s “Shallow” single, from the A Star Is Born movie.

BIRNA – “Shallow” music video

“Tell me somethin’, girl. Are you happy in this modern world? Or do you need more? Is there somethin’ else you’re searchin’ for? I’m fallin’ in all the good times. I find myself longing for change. And in the bad times, I fear myself.” – lyrics

The original country-pop ballad version of “Shallow” has amassed over 733M streams online via Spotify alone.

BIRNA’s spirited version complements the original in so many ways while adding a youthful rock ‘n’ roll robustness to an already classic tune.

According to the bubbly newcomer, “I wanted to do it Iceland way, hard rock with mystical feel to it.”

BIRNA was a member of the pop band MioTrio when she was 11-to-13 years old. Now the charismatic youngster has decided to enter the stage as a solo artist.

Also, she is keen on using real instruments when creating music instead of composing only on computers. Later this year, she will debut her first single.

We recommend adding BIRNA’s “Shallow” cover to your personal playlist. Also, let us know how you feel about it in the comment section below.
