“Stop, hold your breath, put your faith in me. Forced me to believe that you were the one. A liar, you deceived. Was I in a dream? I was running from this. You’re lying and all of your sh*t. To be broken down like this, I wasn’t up for it. You keep saying you’re sorry. Forgave you, still believe. But you don’t, no, you don’t. But you don’t love me.” – lyrics
‘You Don’t Love Me’ tells an emotional tale of a young guy who shares a problematic relationship with his significant other. Apparently, he feels that his companion doesn’t love him anymore, and is on the verge of walking out of their relationship. Therefore, he tries his best to stop the impending breakup from happening.
‘You Don’t Love Me’ contains a relatable narrative, pleasing vocals, and tuneful melodies. Also, the heartbreaking tune possesses up-tempo instrumentation decorated with modern dance and electro-pop elements.
“I wrote ‘You Don’t Love Me’ at a moment when I was personally struggling with feelings of loneliness and desertion. There were times when I certainly felt some frustration with personal relationships, even as I have come to recognize that it is part of the process. Also, it definitely led to some self-reflection and personal growth in that regard.” – Andon
Andon was a contestant on Jamaica’s local talent Show Digicel Rising Stars. He made it all the way to an overall sixth-place finish out of hundreds of singers who had auditioned. That experience further boosted his belief and hunger to be musically creative.
