“I know you never had a doubt. Now, I’m living in your house. I think I finally figured out that the poison’s in your mouth. I know that it’s getting pretty loud now. You don’t have to listen to the sound now. There’s a mood in your room and we’re lying in it. As long as it’s me and you, yeah, I know that we will find our way. We’ll live forever in the light of yesterday.” – lyrics

‘Yesterday’ contains ear-pleasing vocals, a catchy pop chorus, and a relatable narrative about two people who desire to find their way back to each other. However, trying to get through the noise and trying to hear each other’s voices is such a difficult task. Also, life has a mind of its own, so they were never given a chance to pick their obstacles. Therefore, to cope with unpredictability, they concluded that it would be in their best interest to “take the sadness with the joy.”

‘Yesterday’ possesses bright, shimmering guitars, swelling reverb, and nostalgic synth-laden instrumentation that seamlessly merges the sounds of indie-pop with coastal rock. Furthermore, the energetic tune serves as a tasty appetizer to what listeners can expect to hear from Alt Fiction in the near future as they continue to release new and exciting music.

“It’s about understanding what goes up in a relationship must come down. About remembering the best times to help you through the worst, and coming to grips with the fact that no relationship can stay perfect.” – Will Tyler explained

‘Yesterday’ is a tidy tune, delivered with a tightness that can only come from blood. It’s a synchronicity that was founded as brothers—Mitch, Matt, and Will Tyler—grew up together in the rural QLD town of Killarney. From those humble country origins, Alt Fiction is now well into their ascent to Gold Coast indie pop-rock stars. The band pens down-to-earth pieces about growing up and navigating life. With a distinctively ambitious will, fervor, and an ever-evolving sound, the brothers are worth paying attention to.
